Those speed demons at the Tweed Ski Club are back and this time more than 30 speed boats will converge on Coraki on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March. Watch the exhilarating display at the junction of the Richmond and Wilson Rivers where boats will race through the twists and turns at speeds of up to 150 kilometres per hour.

The best viewing point by far will be along the river bank in the riverside park on Richmond Terrace for this free event. The Coraki Hotel will be catering to the crowds with food and refreshments in the beer garden, while snacks and takeaways are available at the nearby Junction Café & Pizzeria or Coraki Bakery.

In the Valley we love our gardens and a visit to the annual Casino Flower Show & Fair, Saturday 3 March will see you enjoying a blooming schedule of exquisite floral displays, demonstrations and stalls on all things green.

As a special treat, sarah Lysaght from "Out there" Sculpture garden and ABC Gardening guru Phil Dudman will host the event, plus Julie Ray will delight the crowds with her culinary skills. Every year hundreds of rowers converge on the Wilson's River from Lismore through Coraki and onto the Richmond River to Ballina to take part in the 'Paddle For Life' event, raising much-needed funds for the Summerland Early Intervention Programme and Southern Cross Lads Inc.

Online entries close Saturday, June 9, at 1 pm, although this could alter, so please check back closer to the event day.

Entry fee is $25 (2km), $15 (700m), $35 for both ocean swims, and $10 for the Dash for Cash.

Dash for Cash is to be held on the Saturday afternoon, 2-4pm, at the Events Head Aquatic Centre. Race over 25m, two categories 50+  and up to 49, Male and Female.

Race day entries will be taken at Evans Head SLSC until 9am, race day entry fee will include a $10 premium on online entries.

Join with the Far North Coast Canoe Club in the Paddle NSW Northern Series Marathon Events in 2012 at Woodburn riverfront as rowing buffs compete in a number of races on Rocky Mouth Creek.

The best provincial longboarding in Australia will feature120 longboarders from Victoria to the Sunshine Coast competing in the annual Evans Head Malibu Classic, formally the Evans Head Longboard Invitational.

Over the long weekend there will be live music, BBQ’s and refreshments available and on the public holiday Monday a beachside market. Spectators should get along to see surfboards from another era. The increasingly popular ‘retro’ competition division featuring pre 1982 single fin shortboards and the pre 1968 under 40’s Old Mal division will provide all the nostalgia from the days of old.

Coraki's premier annual event brings artists from far and wide to exhibit at Coraki Conference Centre and this year, also at Coraki Anglican Church Hall to incorporate the expansion of sections to include printmaking and sculpture.

The Coraki Art Prize begins with an official opening and presentation on Friday with a light supper, two glasses of wine and entertainment for what is going to be a great event for artists, friends and fans. Please note: children cannot be accommodated at this adults-only event.

The exhibition continues from 10am on Saturday and 10am on Sunday and will showcase artwork ranging from paintings, drawings, Aboriginal art, photography, youth art and youth photography from talented local artists over the two venues.
