Casino Relay For Life

Relay For Life is a overnight community event where teams participate in a relay-style walk or run to raise funds for the Cancer Council. The event brings the whole community together for a night of fun, entertainment, celebration and rememberance. Each Relay For Life event is organised by a local volunteer organising committee on behalf of the Cancer Council.

Evans Head 'Beef Meets Reef'

This is the second street extravaganza, taking place in Oak Street, Evans Head. It’s a huge celebration of seafood, salt air and beef skewers for all the family to enjoy.
Come and taste the local offerings of scrumptious Reef and Beef while you are entertained by dancing, live music, farm animals, cattle display, clowns, and much and much more. At 2pm join in the spectacle of the street parade with floats, a marching band, music and fun.

Our annual campdraft is held each year on the long week-end in June.
With events for the whole family including ladies and children’s events.
It is held at the campdraft grounds which are down on the banks of the Clarence River.
There is no admission prices to come and watch the events.
Proceeds from the week-end are distributed locally between the Westpac Helicopter, fire brigade, Tabulam School, S.E.S.
everybody is welcome.

18th Annual Evans Head Fishing Classic

Join the fun of the Evans Head Fishing Classic which offers prizes of over $100,000 each year. The Classic is a great way for the whole family to toss a line and have a coastal holiday in the beautiful Evans Head area in the Northern Rivers, NSW.
Live entertainment is provided in the compound at the Fishing Classic headquarters, located in the grounds of the Woodburn Evans Head RSL Club, with popular daily prize draws. Art, Craft and Quilt Show
Due to the success of the inaugural Fair last year, the diverse talents of the women of the Richmond Valley will be showcased again at the Community and Cultural Centre, Walker Street, on Saturday 27 July from 9 am to 4 pm.
Interesting demonstrations throughout the day of spinning and weaving, jewellery making, quilt and patchwork preparation, fabric sculpture, paper crafting, hand-painted fabrics, hand-made textile crafts, decorative painting and hand-made flowers and fascinators will educate and inspire craft lovers.
This year there will also be an exhibition by the Casino Art Group.
Merchandise and light refreshments will be on sale throughout the day.
Entry will be by gold coin donation.
Casino Quota is a group of local women who work together having fun while raising funds for those who are hearing and speech impaired, disadvantaged women and children and for the local community.

Bentley Art Prize

The annual Bentley Art Prize will be held in the Bentley Public Hall (midway between Lismore and Kyogle).
This art prize gives emerging artists the chance to showcase their talent to the wider community All proceeds raised from the event go toward the upkeep of the Bentley Public Hall, a focal point for the Bentley community. The Bentley Art Prize is a community event that attracts people of all ages to view the diversity of artwork created locally and from afar.
Tables of crafts, gifts, refreshments are also available. Kids can enjoy painting under the trees by the side of the hall.

Evans Head's annual Seafood Bowls Carnival is held the first full week in August.
There are 3 games each day, starting at 9.30am and the mixed teams are to play Lady – Man – Lady – Man.
Dress – Creams or club colours.
The cost is $20 per person per day which includes morning tea, lunch and high tea.
Watch the champions challenge their opponents! There's always a high level of great rivalry and sportsmanship that makes this a great event to watch! Enjoy the action at "the bowlo" right beside the ocean in beautiful Evans Head.

Join with passionate gardeners and flower lovers as they unite to celebrate the beauty of spring at the St Mark's Spring Flower Show & Fair.

Green thumbs are encouraged to bring their cut flowers and arrangements to enter the competition to be judged from 10.00am. Submissions must be benched between 7.30 and 9am and no entry fee is applicable. The schedule of flower sections from roses to gerberas and many other popular springtime varieties will be available through selected retail stores in Casino and at the Casino Visitor Information Centre two weeks prior to the show. Presentation of trophies will commence at 12 midday.
While you're there, browse from an array of stalls full of plants, cooking, sewing and sweets for purchase and stop by the kitchen for elegant sandwiches and tea or coffee. This year's event features cake decorating demonstrations by the wonderfully talented local cake maker, Shirley Olsen, plus a stall run by the Solomon Island Fundraising Group raising worthy funds to send to needy in the South Pacific.
An annual event, popular across the Richmond Valley and one not to be missed!

Evans Head Malibu Classic

The best provincial longboarding in Australia will feature120 longboarders from Victoria to the Sunshine Coast competing in the annual Evans Head Malibu Classic, formally the Evans Head Longboard Invitational.
Over the long weekend there will be live music, BBQ’s and refreshments available and on the public holiday Monday a beachside market. Spectators should get along to see surfboards from another era. The increasingly popular ‘retro’ competition division featuring pre 1982 single fin shortboards and the pre 1968 under 40’s Old Mal division will provide all the nostalgia from the days of old.

Family-oriented day of activities and entertainment centred on the Richmond River and adjacent Riverside Park at Woodburn, celebrating the importance of the river in the development of the district.
A raft race is planned as well as the extremely competitive Council Challenge race between Richmond Valley Council and Lismore City Council - a race not to be missed! There will also be Kayak races, markets and a barbecue. The children will love the petting zoo, where they can get up close and cuddly with the animals. There will be entertainment throughout the day which will finish with an exciting fireworks display at approx 8 p.m.

Woodburn Bridge to Bridge

‘Whet’ your appetite for speed-chasing thrills at Woodburn’s Riverside Park for the annual Bridge to Bridge water skiing races.
The Woodburn Bridge to Bridge race forms part of the East Coast Race Series and is the concluding race of the year. Each race week-end caters for all skiers ranging from beginners to the elite, with classes for Sub Juniors, Juniors, Women’s, Masters, Social and Unlimited Inboards and Outboards.
Witness the passionate competitors as they ski at speeds up to 115 kilometres per hour between the Woodburn and Wardell Bridges on the Richmond River.
