Art, Craft and Quilt Show
Due to the success of the inaugural Fair last year, the diverse talents of the women of the Richmond Valley will be showcased again at the Community and Cultural Centre, Walker Street, on Saturday 27 July  from 9 am to 4 pm.

Interesting demonstrations throughout the day of spinning and weaving, jewellery making, quilt and patchwork preparation, fabric sculpture, paper crafting, hand-painted fabrics, hand-made textile crafts, decorative painting and hand-made flowers and fascinators will educate and inspire craft lovers.

This year there will also be an exhibition by the Casino Art Group.

Merchandise and light refreshments will be on sale throughout the day.

Entry will be by gold coin donation.

Casino Quota is a group of local women who work together having fun while raising funds for those who are hearing and speech impaired, disadvantaged women and children and for the local community.

Presentation of trophies will commence at 12 midday.

While you're there, browse from an array of stalls full of plants, cooking, sewing and sweets for purchase and stop by the kitchen for elegant sandwiches and tea or coffee. This year's event features cake decorating demonstrations by the wonderfully talented local cake maker, Shirley Olsen, plus a stall run by the Solomon Island Fundraising Group raising worthy funds to send to needy in the South Pacific.

An annual event, popular across the Richmond Valley and one not to be missed!

The best provincial longboarding in Australia will feature120 longboarders from Victoria to the Sunshine Coast competing in the annual Evans Head Malibu Classic, formally the Evans Head Longboard Invitational.

Over the long weekend there will be live music, BBQ’s and refreshments available and on the public holiday Monday a beachside market. Spectators should get along to see surfboards from another era. The increasingly popular ‘retro’ competition division featuring pre 1982 single fin shortboards and the pre 1968 under 40’s Old Mal division will provide all the nostalgia from the days of old.

‘Whet’ your appetite for speed-chasing thrills at Woodburn’s Riverside Park for the annual Bridge to Bridge water skiing races.

The Woodburn Bridge to Bridge race forms part of the East Coast Race Series and is the concluding race of the year. Each race week-end caters for all skiers ranging from beginners to the elite, with classes for Sub Juniors, Juniors, Women’s, Masters, Social and Unlimited Inboards and Outboards.

Come along to the regular monthly markets (first Thursday of every month) in the Casino CBD!

An afternoon and evening to celebrate food, art and music!

There will be a variety of mouth-watering foodstalls, fruit and vegetable stalls and plants for sale.  Also a selection of children's clothes, arts and crafts, jewellery, natural cosmetics, hand-made furniture and face-painting!  Buskers will be providing the entertainment!
